REACTION BITES - VOLUME 1

SCHOOL’S IN ON PICKWICK In over a decade as professional fisherman, Alabama pro Tim Horton has shown himself to be one of the most adaptable anglers on Tour. But, adaptability isn’t about success on different types of waters. It’s about making adjustments within the day from hour to hour - even minute to minute. And over the course of a single day on Pickwick Lake, Tim adjusts his tactics to take the hot bite he finds early and make it last.

BASS KNOCKIN’
Lake Guntersville just prior to the spawn – those words are music to any bass fisherman’s ears. That’s when the big girls roam the grass flats looking to get that last bit of energy before they turn their attention to other obligations. It is a time and a pattern that Tim Horton of Muscle Shoals knows well, and one that he looks forward to every year. Now he has a new tool at his disposal – the Excalibur XR-50 One Knocker, a lipless crankbait with a distinct sound pattern, one that Tim believes will trigger strikes from the biggest fish the “Big G” can offer.

3 LEVELS OF POWER - VOLUME 2

OOLOGAN BUSHES
Edwin Evers is fishing Oklahoma’s Lake Oologah, where recent rains have flooded the available shoreline cover, leaving countless bassy looking places for the fish to hide. It’s mid-August and the lake is finally starting to recede. Edwin starts off flipping and pitching flooded bushes to see if the big girls are still up shallow in the heat of the summer.

BALSA BASSIN’
Edwin Evers is faced with dual challenges – a brand new body of water and a falling water level. This lake is so far off the beaten path that it even has a sign professing to ban tournaments on its waters. But it also has a ton of choice-looking shallow cover which should hold shallow bass during the fall months.

DEEP CRANKIN
Nothing comes easy in hot weather, and big bass are no exception. We meet up again with Edwin Evers on Oklahoma’s Grand Lake. The dog days of August may be tough, but he’s not inclined to bring out the sissy gear. Instead, he’s going to go after the big girls with a classic summer power technique – a Fat Free Shad on offshore humps and ledges.

ADAPTING TO CONDITIONS - VOLUME 3

COLD WEATHER SMALLMOUTH
Dave Wolak is considered an expert on New York’s Finger Lakes, including Keuka, where the smallmouths grow big but they’re not always easy to catch. He is experiencing cold weather, but once he figures out how to catch these clear water smallies he probably won’t mind the arctic chill one bit.

COLD WEATHER
It is late fall on North Carolina’s Lake Shearon Harris and the temperatures are downright frigid. It’ll warm up as the day goes on, but bluebird skies should keep the fish buried in the thickest cover Dave can find – just right for flipping a Yum Wooly Bug and a Big Show Craw for big largemouths.

FALCON’S GIANTS
When you’re headed to the hottest lake in the country, it’s impossible to have anything other than Texas-sized expectations. Dave Wolak is returning to Falcon Lake for the first time in almost a year and the water is nearly 20 feet higher than he remembers it. He’s definitely excited, but the places where he caught them in the past are all but useless.

PRE-SPAWN PATHWAYS - VOLUME 5

FREEZING WEATHER
Don’t mess with Texas. Someone almost forgot to tell mother nature that. However,
the 2008 Bassmaster Classic Champ Alton Jones may have something to say about it.
After a major cold front rolls through the Lone Star State, Alton is on a mission on Fayette Co Lake, to kick some major bass using a Excalibur XR-75 Rattlebait. Get into his mind as he uncovers a Classic Pattern for early spring/ later winter bass.

HOT WATER DISCHARGE
Over the past several years, swimbaits have gotten a lot of press as a key technique for catching big fish. Only one problem – information about how or why they work & how to fish them has been exceptionally limited. There’s a wide gap between the foot-long California trout replicas and the smaller, hollow-bodied plastic versions that have been tearing up the tournament trail. Alton Jones is going to give you the skinny on the Yum Money Minnow – how it works, how to use it and how to get the most out of this deadly lure.
